It like to get rid of stuff I don?t need. Very pratical. If you get rid of stuff, you do not have to take care for it anymore. Some people KEEP stuff, and thus get ?cluttered?. I REMOVE stuff and thus get ?room to breath?:) This can be done with nearly everything. E.g. keep your PC tidy and the thing performs better. I keep my PC ultra tidy, and so it performs optimal. You also can keep your room tidy (and thus less to ?clean up? every week). Not tidy tidy, but really REMOVE the stuff you do not need/use anymore. Or keep your agenda tidy. I keep my program code ?tidy?, make it bare to the core, and remove every unuseful statement ? this results in better, more stable programs and much easier to understand code afterwards. Einstein kept his equations tidy and ended up with E = m c^2:)

Ok, it appearently comes with a lot of Samsung and other stuff preloaded ? which I do not use. But because it was my first smartphone, I was not directly able to tidy up the device. I was not yet into modding/hacking the thing. But over time I learned some tricks. ?Rooting? the device and installing ?custom mods?.
With these techniques in place I recently ?rooted? AND ?modded? my Ace. I wanted to get rid of as much stuff as possible. And I stumbled on the StockLite custom mod amongst the myriad of custom mods available. Installed it, and after a short time of getting used to it (first day, I was not convinced) I really do love this mod and other ?root? apps like Link2SD.
I now have a Galaxy Ace which is ultra tidy. Just to my liking.
And you know what. The thing looks like running a nuclear fuel cell or something, lol, as I did run out of battery juice only after 6.5 DAYS. Yup, you are reading correctly ? 6.5(!) DAYS, where 1 day is the normal situation with most smartphone users.
The secret not only lies in the StockLite custom mod (Iirc this mod has some battery enhancer or something) but also in general use of the phone. I only use Wifi when I need it. I only use the Phone when I need it. I only use Data when I need it. So, e.g. at night I put the Ace in ?Airplane mode? etc.
But c?mon ? 6.5 DAYS?? Lol, even I was wondering if the battery ever would be drained to 0%, until it did this afternoon. Down to less than 7% juice it went into ?shut down?.
