Need opinion (psychological thriller type)

I have an idea for a psychological thriller type o f RP where a group of people agree to do a secluded research on past traumas. I can't decided if I should leave it a reality based RP...or have the spirits of past (failed) participants come back to visit...

I think either way it would still have a good story line around it. But...I can't decide which way it would be better.

Any opinions?

(I know the ghost idea sounds a little cheesy but...think about it...it's pretty creepy)
